And Now I Walk With Purpose

I’m 18 and currently in Grade 11. When I was about three years old, a kind woman took me in and raised me as her own. In 2022, life took a difficult turn, and I was placed in a government shelter. It was one of the hardest times of my life. I felt abandoned and hopeless. I questioned if I could keep going. I even tried to run away.
Eventually, I was moved to a new home—a place supported by HOME International, Inc. From the beginning, it felt different. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the people were kind. For the first time in a long while, I felt like I could breathe.
Yet, I was still carrying pain from the past. I didn’t know how to accept love or trust the people who cared for me. I pushed away the very ones who believed in me. But they did not give up. The couple who run the home became like parents to me. The girls welcomed me as if I were one of their own. Slowly, I began to heal.
In this home, I also found faith. I came to know the love of Jesus and realized He had been with me all along. I used to focus only on my problems. Now, I’m learning to see that I was never alone.
Recently, I had the chance to represent our home at a local event. I was honored to receive the ‘Champion of Champions’ award and a gold medal in my category. It meant a lot—not just for me, but for everyone who has stood by me.
The monsoon season has been rough, with landslides, floods, and roadblocks making travel dangerous. But even during those trips, I felt God's protection over us. We stayed safe, and I’m thankful for that.
I’m still growing and learning, but I’m now walking with purpose. I want to bring hope to others who feel lost, just as I once did. Thank you for your prayers and support.
