about
The “home” in HOME International is an acronym for "Hands of Mercy Extended." In the year 2000, HOME International opened its first of two homes for orphaned girls in India. Since then, young girls have been rescued from hardship and abandonment to these homes and under the care of a loving family. The girls are taught to give to others in need in the nearby villages. This act of kindness enriches their lives in a very positive way.
ABROAD
Dozens of girls who came from the streets without a home have graduated from these homes in the last two decades, and they are thriving. Some have married, started their own businesses, and received a college education. But all of these young women are influencers right where they are. Now, we have a new generation of girls receiving the same love and care as those before them.
LOCALLY
In the earlier years, many wanted to contribute things like clothing, housewares, books, and toys for the girls. But these things are expensive to send overseas. So, HOME International opened a thrift store to allow the community to participate.
Since then, the store, now called Welcome Home Thrift & More, has served as a connector between the local community and women and children in need right here. Our mission is simple: to get things into the hands of those experiencing hardship. We do this through strategic partnerships with local organizations that have face-to-face connections with these individuals.
When you contribute financially to HOME International, donate goods, or shop at Welcome Home Thrift & More, you become an essential part of this dramatic life change for the girls, women, and families in need through these two initiatives. Thank you!
